Making Bows (Members only skill)

First you need to acquire some wood. There is several types of trees that you can cut, depending on your lvl of wood cutting. Next use knife on logs to cut them into either shortbow or a longbow. To string a bow you need to find flax plant.This can be found behind the bee hives in Camelot or even better at Gnome Stronghold as there are a number of Flax plants there. When you get a full load, simply climb the ladder next to the plants and bank them. After you have a large amount, then you need to spin the flax on a spinning wheel to make bow strings. Go to Falador and use the bank and spinning wheel which is near it to spin it. This is by far the fastest way to obtain bow strings. Finally add the string to the bow to complete it. Ordinary trees can be found all over Runescape but rarer trees can only be found in Camelot.

Note: making bow strings gives 15 exp in crafting per string.

  • Rare Trees Map

    - Magic trees appear as normal rounded trees but with sparkles on them. Kinda hard to notice them. There is one right near the fishing contest (a bit to the east) and three of them in one line a bit south from the seer's village cemetery and a bit north-west from the sorcerer's tower. These trees appear on the Runescape map as "rare trees zone". from GoldenEvil

    • The rarer types of bow, need higher wood cutting levels and fletching levels to make.

    To work out experience for just making Bows without strings or just stringing bows, divide the complete bow experience by 2.

    Making Arrows

    To make an arrow, first cut some ordinary logs and use a knife to cut them into shafts. Add feathers and then arrow head to finish arrow. Arrow heads can either be purchased from member's archery store, or smithed at anvil. Feathers can either be bought from fishing shop in Port Port Sarim or kill chickens to get feathers.

    The better the arrow, the more it will inflict damage. You will require a better bow to fire better arrows.

    • Making arrows shafts: 1 log = 10 shafts = 5 exp.
    • Feathering shafts: 10 feathers + 10 shafts = 10 headless arrows = 10 exp.

    Making Darts

    You need to have tourist trap quest completed.
    To make darts you only have to add feathers to dart head. First buy or smith some dart heads that can be made only by member smiths. Feathers can either be bought from fishing shop in Port Port Sarim or kill chickens to get feathers.
    Overall they are much easier/faster to make than arrows as you need one step less (no need to cut logs and make shafts)

    The better the dart, the more it will inflict damage.

    Making Pearl crossbow bolts from destructokil

    Material needed for 1 pearl bolt is 1 crossbow bolt and 1 pearl.
    Pearls: Use a chisel on the oyster with pearls in it. Oyster can be caught with BIG net.
    Crossbow bolts: buy at Varrrock shop/loot.

    Use pearls on crossbow bolts and you have your own pearl bolts. (Fletching required is 34 and I dont know how much exp you will get.)
